What is the difference between Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly?

They are two distinct crus. Brouilly (~1,300 ha) sits on granite, sandy and clay soils: fruity, round, easy-drinking wines. Côte de Brouilly (~330 ha) covers the slopes of Mont Brouilly on blue diorite schist: more structured, concentrated wines with better ageing potential. Domaine de Voujon holds parcels in both appellations.

What is the Gamay grape?

Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc is the exclusive grape variety of Beaujolais. It produces wines light in tannins, very fruity (cherry, raspberry, peony), accessible young. The best crus — Brouilly, Chiroubles, Régnié — can age 5 to 10 years. All our wines are 100% Gamay.

What is HVE 3 certification?

Domaine de Voujon is HVE 3 certified.

What food pairings work with Brouilly?

Brouilly pairs perfectly with charcuterie, roasted poultry, goat's cheese, lightly sauced fish and pizzas. The 5 Générations cuvée, more structured, suits duck or lamb. Serve between 14 and 16°C.

What is the difference between Chiroubles and Régnié?

Chiroubles is the highest-altitude cru in Beaujolais (~400 m), on very light granite soils. It produces floral, airy, silky wines — best enjoyed within 2–3 years. Régnié is the youngest cru (recognised 1988), fruity and supple, slightly fuller than Chiroubles.
